We have had a few questions regarding the High Water levels on both the lake and river this year…And yes, a record year it is! But even with the high water, we are still able to continue to cruise…just with some added excitement!

The river is flowing at a fast rate, and is currently the highest it has been in years. The current flow over the Falls is over 45,000 cubic feet per second…the normal is about 8,000. This has created a pretty unique site for our cruisers, as they get to see the river flowing by at a pretty good speed, all from the comfort of our boats, which are able to handle the flow, all while saving fuel going down stream, but using up fuel saved coming back up river! At this time we do have some lock restrictions in place, but this has not hampered our cruising, as we have a beautiful cruise route, full of exciting sights!

The Lake is at the highest level ever recorded! It is pretty amazing to see the water this high, and in fact, the Lake Minnetonka Conversation District has imposed a complete Lake NO WAKE zone. This is in effect for the entire lake, resulting in recreational boaters having to keep their boats at a minimum wake to avoid any further damage to the shoreline. THIS however does not affect our cruising, as our boats normally travel with little or no wake, resulting in no change to our schedule or routes. We do however enjoy pointing out how high the levels are and showing you some great examples!

Please note there are some added steps and ramp adjustments at our boarding gates. If you have questions, please contact our office. Thank you!
